The common purpose behind all these downloads, available to everyone, is to give you a better understanding of how Business on the Move works and to offer some extra material to enhance game play.

Most of the downloads relate to our Global Edition (2018) but some apply to our first UK Edition (2014). The sample Newsflashes are just three of more than twenty available through our Learning Zone. Although primarily written for use with the Global game, many are adaptable to the UK game by assuming $1=£1.

Playing the Global Edition

The first few slides lay down the challenge. Most of the slides explain how to play, including what happens when your dice shows ‘CO2’. The last slides show how to work out who has won. A more detailed PowerPoint, ideal for supporting multiple Global games being played at the same time, is available through our Learning Zone if you are a teacher/trainer with a minimum of 4 games

Delivering learning at KS2

This colour leaflet was written for our first (UK) Edition in 2014 for primary teachers working at Key Stage 2. It summarises the game and describes how the game addresses the National Curriculum in England, highlighting its inherent flexibility both within subject areas and a cross-curricular resource.

This colour leaflet describes how the Global Edition of Business on the Move is used in training and Higher Education as well as in schools. It also identifies six ways in which the Global Edition differs from our first UK-centric Edition before finishing with some suggestions for ‘next steps’.

Different Formats for Playing

This information sheet demonstrates just how versatile Business on the Move is by briefly describing (1) how the ‘Express’ version is ideal for Exhibitions and Careers Fairs where you are tight for time; (2) how the game can make a ‘fun’ contribution to a staff away day; and (3) how a competitive format has been used with 128 young freight forwarders playing in pairs as an opening session to World Congresses in New Delhi and, more recently as per photo, in Cape Town.

This set of feedback comes from 543 primary and secondary pupils spread across 31 schools in the UK who tested our game at its prototype stage before our UK Edition was produced. Two included quotes are: “Would be a good family game” and “Epic! Mint! Cool! Fantabulous, it left me speechless!”

Because our partners range from small businesses to multinational corporations and from primary schools to universities, we offer a very flexible bespoke programme where you select, from a mix of six elements, those most appropriate to your organisation. Every element is highly flexible and can be covered ‘lightly’ in as little as 20 minutes or discussed in detail for 60+ minutes.

Newsflashes ‘raise the bar’ and challenge players to respond to a change in the business environment. This newsflash invites players to offset their carbon footprint and rethrow their CO2 dice….if they agree to invest $5,000 into the ‘Carbon Reduction Fund’. It is one of more than twenty Newsflashes available through our Learning Zone. Although primarily written for use with the Global game, many are adaptable to the UK game by assuming $1=£1.
