Staff at DP World London Gateway recently hosted around 30 pupils from four local schools and helped teach them how to play Business on the Move, a fun and educational board game designed to excite and inspire 9 to 19 year olds about business and global supply chains.
DP World London Gateway is one of a number of companies and organisations that sponsor the game. It effectively tasks players with running a logistics business and moving different products from China to their domestic market by land, air and sea as quickly, profitably and responsibly as they can.
Players must make the same decisions that real businesses make every day; How do I deliver? Will I make a profit? How should I grow? How can I cut my carbon footprint? Business on the Move is extremely versatile, relevant to different subjects and sufficiently flexible to meet the needs of widely differing learners.
Pupils from Hathaway Academy, St Cleres, Elutec and Hassenbrook Academy were among those who had an enjoyable afternoon at No.1 London Gateway.
The workshop was facilitated by staff support from across the company embracing Customer Services, Environment, Human Capital and Business Projects.
